Born from a Passion for Perfect Desserts

Sweet Shake was founded in 2015 by Priya and James Sharma, a husband-and-wife duo with a shared obsession: the perfect dessert. Starting with a single café in Manchester, their vision was simple — to create a space where every sweet craving was met with quality, creativity, and warmth.

What began as 12 seats and a handful of waffle recipes has grown into one of the UK's most beloved dessert brands, with over 40 locations from Edinburgh to Bristol. Each venue carries the same spirit as that first café — a genuine love for the craft and an unwavering commitment to making every guest feel indulged.

Today, our team of over 800 passionate people bake, scoop, and create from scratch every single day. We source the finest ingredients — Sicilian pistachios for our gelato, ceremonial-grade matcha from Kyoto, and locally farmed dairy for our whipped creams — because we believe great desserts start with great ingredients.

2015

The First Sweet Shake

Priya and James opened our first café in Manchester's Northern Quarter with 12 seats, 6 waffle recipes, and a dream to redefine the UK dessert experience.

2021

Birmingham Opening

We opened in Birmingham, bringing Sweet Shake's handcrafted desserts and shakes to a new community in the Midlands.

2023

Shake Rewards App Launch

We launched the Shake Rewards App so guests can earn points, unlock exclusive offers, and enjoy a free treat on their birthday.

2024

Best Dessert Award
